Our independent research
People’s experiences with the CQC
Care Rights UK has run a survey focused o people’s experiences of care and interacting with the care regulator for England, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The survey shows that confidence in the CQC is exceptionally low, people are fearful of raising concerns due to negative repercussions, low levels of reporting generally, and many relatives do not feel adequately involved in their loved one’s care.
People’s experiences with healthcare during the pandemic
During the Covid-19 pandemic, people living in care homes experienced health care characterised by disruption and neglect, leading to physical and mental suffering.
The aim of this survey was to collect information on the healthcare experiences of people in care settings during the pandemic. The responses provide vital evidence on the impact of the pandemic and should help to ensure that, in the words of one respondent, ‘this should never be allowed to happen to anyone else, ever again.’
